My whole life I have had to make some difficult decisions. From deciding that I shouldn’t hang out with specific people anymore to deciding not to go on that trip. I’m always scared that I will make the wrong decision or that I’ll regret it later. Then there are times when I’m so glad I made that decision.
I can’t make anyone else’s decisions for them but I can help them figure out what would be better for them at that time in their life. Here are some tips to decide on something or even just evaluate a situation.
- Make a pro and con list, then use it to help organize your thoughts more.
- Talk to a friend or a family member about it. You could also talk to your pastor or mentor to see if they think that the idea is good for you based on where you are at.
- Pray about it, don’t just ask for an answer though ask for the wisdom and strength to make the right decision no matter how hard it might be.
- Get your mind off of it and come back to it later with a fresh perspective.
I am the worst at having to make decisions, but today I overcame that and made a great step towards being the best person I can be. I feel like a weight has been lifted off me because I’m not spending precious time trying to figure out what to do.
If you are dealing with something where you have to make a decision I suggest taking as much time as you need, but know that you will feel so relieved if you just take a leap of faith.
Within the last month, I have made so many jumps into the abyss and I don’t regret any of it. How? you might ask, I’ll tell you.
I realized that I only have 1 life, 1 tiny little life that I have no control of. I don’t have the ability to go off on random road trips or take opportunities when they arise because of school. But one thing that I can do is take chances when they come up. Like getting a ride on a dirt bike when I got the chance or when I realized I could graduate a whole year early.
These chances pop up n my life every day from the simplest like going and hanging out with a friend to sitting and singing with some friends as they have a jam session. It’s the simple things that help me make decisions faster. These little things have taught me so much, especially that everything happens for a reason.
I want the story of my life to be more than a simple story of a girl who had a blog. I want my story to be a marvelous tale about a Christian who spread the joy and love of christ around the globe within her own little corner of the internet. The only way for me to achieve this though is if I make the hard decisions and keep being an outlaw in my community.
I hope you are all having a great week, make the hard choices and smile more.
